Biography

I am a doctoral student at the Institute of Archaeology and Museology at Masaryk University in Brno. In my research, I focus on reconstructing the diet and mobility of ancient populations through the analysis of stable and radiogenic isotopes in skeletal material. In my dissertation, I examine the impact of the collapse of the Western Roman Empire on the lifestyle (especially dietary habits) of the inhabitants of Italy during the late antiquity period.

During my studies, I was trained in sampling and laboratory pretreatment of bone and dental samples for stable isotope analysis and radiocarbon dating. I also have experience with the collection and management of archaeozoological data and with the analysis and visualization of isotope data.

In the PASTVA project, I investigate human – animal interactions in the early prehistory (Neolithic – Early Bronze Age) and their impact on the forest ecosystem. I contribute to the creation of the BIAD database, where I compile published archaeozoological data from the area of Czech Republic. My main task is the analysis of newly obtained isotopic data, which will serve to complement and expand the outcomes of the project.
