Biography

Barbora Machová graduated in Archaeology in 2012 from the Department of Archaeology and Museology, Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University. She completed her doctoral studies there in 2020, successfully defending her dissertation on the topic “Archaeology of the River”. In the early years of her career, she worked at Masaryk University’s archaeological fieldwork facilities and participated in several domestic projects. Since 2018, she has been employed at the Institute of Archaeology of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Prague. From the beginning of her studies, she has focused primarily on non-destructive methods of archaeological research, spatial archaeology, and, since 2015, particularly on river and underwater archaeology.
