Types and changes in fortification elements (9th–11th century) in the testimony of sources from the former Imperial Stables of Prague Castle and the adjacent courtyard

Autoři představují rekonstrukční 3D model vývoje raně středověké fortifikace, zachycující postupné proměny opevnění centrální lokality od poslední třetiny 9. století do počátku 12. století. Východiskem rekonstrukce různých konstrukčních typů jsou relikty opevnění centrální části Pražského hradu, zachycené záchranným archeologickým výzkumem v 80.–90. letech 20. století na severní hraně hradčanského ostrohu. Na dvou místech se podařilo dokumentovat kontakt pozůstatků fortifikace s dochovanými dubovými konstrukcemi, z nichž bylo získáno několik dendrochronologických dat.

The authors present a 3D reconstruction model of the development of the early medieval fortifications, depicting the gradual changes of the fortifications of the central site between the last third of the 9th century and the first third of the 12th century. The reconstruction of various construction types is based on the relics of the fortifications of the central part of Prague Castle captured by rescue archaeological excavations in the 1980s and 1990s on the northern edge of the Hradčany promontory. In two places it was possible to document the contact of the remains of the fortifications with preserved oak structures, from which several dendrochronological dates were obtained.
