Research interests:

– Archaeobotanical database program ArboDatMulti for storage and processing of archaeobotanical data and Archaeobotanical database of the Czech Republic (CZAD) based on ArboDatMulti software https://www.arup.cas.cz/czad/

– Analysis of plant macro-remains in the archaeological contexts.

– Analysis of functional traits of plants from archaeobotanical contexts – connection of the database ArboDatMulti with other databases (Leda, CloPla etc.) .

– Natural environment of Prague in middle ages.

– Anthropogenic vegetation in prehistory and middle ages in middle Europe and north Africa.

– Botany and palaeobotany of the North Africa (above all the area of Sahara and Sahel – Egypt and Northern Sudan) in the past and today.

– Cultural plants in the North-East Africa – domestication and introduction .

– Digital Atlas of Common plants of the Western Desert of Egypt http://westerndesertflora.geolab.cz/ .

– Rural settlement in oases in the Western Desert of Egypt in Roman time.

– Botany and archaeobotany of the Sabaloka Gorge (North from Khartoum, Sudan).

– Process of neolithisation in Northern Sudan.

– 1st half of the 1st Millennia in Northern Sudan – sources of plant food, domestication, introduction, changes of farming and local anthropogenic vegetation.

– 2002-2008: Employee as a toxicologist in the National Institute of Public Health in Prague, Centre of Occupational Health.

– 2008-2011: Employee as an archaeobotanist in the Laboratory of Archaeobotany and Palaeoecology (LAPE) in University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice.

– 2009-2011: Employee as an archaeobotanist in the Institute of Geology AS CR in Prague. Participation in the project: Environmental History of the Western Desert in Egypt.

– from 2009: Employee as an archaeobotanist in the Institute of Archaeology AS CR, in Prague, Department of the archaeology of landscape and archaeobiology. Participation in a project focussed on creating Archaeobotanicla Database of the Czech Republic (CZAD) and adjustment of the program ArboDatMulti.

Field activities:

– 2007: participation in the survey of El Hayes oasis (Bahariya, Egypt) organised by the Czech Institute of Egyptology in Prague (recent vegetation survey and analysis of plant macro-remains from Roman period).

– 2010: participation in the expedition of the Czech Institute of Egyptology in Prague to the Western Desert of Egypt.

– 2010: excavations in Abusir, Egypt, analysis of plant macro-remains from archaeological contexts from Old and New Kingdom of Egypt.

– 2011: participation in the expedition to Sudan – Sabaloka 2011 (Czech Institute of Egyptology in Prague). Floristic survey, creation of reference collection of seeds and fruits from Sudan, analysis of plant macro-remains from Post-Meroitic tumulus, sampling in Neolithic localities.

– 2012: participation in the expedition to Sudan – Sabaloka 2012 (Czech Institute of Egyptology in Prague). Continuation of sampling, mostly in Mesolithic locality Sphinx.

– 2012: participation in the expedition Macroecological analysis on the transect Nordkapp-Sahara (Spain).

– 2012: participation in the expedition Macroecological analysis on the transect Nordkapp-Sahara (Germany, France).
