The project emerged from the analysis of finds from a Final Bronze Age site in Roztoky. Its aim is the processing of this material not only from a typological-chronological point of view, but also from the point of view of its functional and spatialstrucure and from the viewpoint of the non-typological characteristics of the settlement refuse. This method will look for (a) the recognition of functional units of the residential area (households); (b) the identification of functional zones within the borders of the site; (c) the recognition of the principles of refuse treatment and further transformations of cultural layers and (d) the reconstruction of some aspects of the FBA material culture (based on daub analysis, animal bone and palaeobotanical material). Within the framework of the project a descriptive code of the FBA ceramic will be completed and prepared for a presentation on CD-ROM. Results will be compared to other sites and generalized.
